Hi! I'm new to RPG Paper Maker and so far I'm loving each aspect of it!
I'm a music composer and I'm making a game in which I'd love to take full advantage of my abilities.
Is it possible to make a transition between two tracks by keeping the progression (in time or in samples) in order to create this effect?
Just before transitioning to RPG Paper Maker I was making my game on RPG Maker MZ and I'd found this Soundtrack Manager plugin from HeroicJay that did the job:
Without necessarily asking someone to create a plugin, is there a way of scripting the loading of several tracks to keep them in the cache, and then punctually calling up the playback of one track, then another, making them follow each other in variable cross-fade?
When you play a music there is an option to define the "Start" (seconds) to create this offset (and you can get the current played seconds in change variable command in other characteristics), but unfortunately you cannot superpose several musics, the previous played will be stopped. Only sounds can be added on top of each other, buuuut it doesn't have this "start" option. :/
Both musics and background sounds can be played at the same time with the start option so you could have this effect only for 2 different tracks.
@wano Thank you for your reply!
I'm going to try the music/bgs playback but the goal here is to use all the versions of the song I made in the same scene so…
Would it be possible to add a "start" and "loop" variable to the sounds? Or to add multiple normal music tracks? If that is not planned for the vanilla release of the maker, would it be possible for someone to make a plugin about it?
I really would like to take advantage of my music and sound design skills but I feel like the possibilities are a bit limited at the moment.
It's not planned for a long time period so you could maybe join Discords server here: https://discord.com/invite/QncEnCE and ask to some plugin devs. There are some pretty active recently.
