For some reason, my character cant select enemies whenever I click the "Attack" button, the only thing that works are the non-combat related buttons. I've had a problem with the levels of the enemies also, sometimes they're level 100 when my character is only level 1, how do I tweak enemy levels?

For the levels, check data manager > troops, you can edit the monsters and there levels here.
